Tom E. Deckard: False Prophet

UPDATE – November 21, 2015

By the time you read this, false Prophet Tom Deckard may have died.

This  man – who has incessantly boasted all those who are sick or suffering with cancer are in that state because they weren’t right with God  – has himself been undergoing treatments for Leukemia.

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

=============================================================

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 13:1-3

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
(2 Peter 2:1-3)

Periodically a man surfaces in the body of Christ claiming to be someone able to see into the future. Tom Deckard is such an one.

However, while many- like Deckard- today claim to have the gift of apostle and prophet, the reality is that the prophetic gift is no longer operating and thus, there are no prophets [or apostles] anywhere in the world who meet the Biblical requirements of 100% accuracy.

If you know one, send me the info and I’ll research the veracity.

What follows is real unvarnished truth about the false “prophet” Tom E. Deckard.  Sadly, while his deceptive nature is clear to those paying attention, he has- like the great Houdini- been able to convince the congregation of the naive he is what he is not. Bottom line: It is my belief that Tom E. Deckard is not a prophet of God, but rather a scurrilous False Teacher as described in our opening verses- who should be shunned, shamed, and brought to repentance.

================================================================================================

I have had to do a lot of investigating on my own because NOBODY SEEMED TO KNOW WHO THIS CHARACTER REALLY WAS!  Then I found some people who had been directly involved with him and sat under his teaching.  I was so sad to hear their stories.  ~ One lady was prayed over and sent home with a handkerchief to put on her grandchild who was deathly ill.  Mr. Deckard told her the child would live.  When the child died he told her it was because of her lack of faith. How devastating and condemning for her!  ~ One man had questioned Mr. Deckard about something and in response, because he had “provoked this old prophet” he was told to get out of his sight and “don’t let the door hit you on the backside on the way out”, that he would “die within 6 months of a painful disease” and that God had given Mr. Deckard the authority to “stomp on this man’s grave”!  It has been a number of years and this man is still alive and has had a difficult time forgiving himself for what he put his family through.~ One young woman whose mother had fallen prey to Tom Deckard and had taken her little sister with her, told how her mother was instructed by Tom to leave her husband because they were not equally yoked and her father had refused to submit to the authority of God and so she did.  This young woman was so angry with her mother and concerned for her sister.  Her father was struggling with the circumstances also, but they are believing God to turn this around and heal their family.  These are only a few conversations I have had with individuals who have had dealings with this man who calls himself a major prophet of the Most High God!  On more than one occasion, (one in particular is his CD “Man & His Family”) I have heard Mr. Deckard “threaten” to expose the sins of some or even ALL those in his attendance, that God will show him their sins and embarrass them in front of everyone.   Thus, he maintains control of his followers through fear and intimidation [typical of most cult charlatans].  There are many other reasons why I boldly make the statement that he is a false teacher.

Many of the proclamations Deckard makes come out after the fact, or as they are surfacing, and suddenly, Mr. Deckard tells of a vision God had given him regarding the situation. And then there is the “Bird Flu” which he has touted would be the demise of the human race for so many years. Moreover, Deckard has made many claims that cannot be verified.  If there is someone out there who has documented proof they have not come forward with actual evidence, only what they have been told by one of his followers or Tom himself.  I have never heard of anyone actually witnessing these personally.I have also attended a few local “meetings”.  The local leader reads word-for-word what Mr. Deckard has emailed him, speaking in first person as if it were their own experiences they were talking about.  There was a lot of church bashing and in particular the charasmatic churches and their pastors.  I did not recognize “love” or “concern” for them, just total condemnation!  They took up an offering, (just like church) and put their little prayer shawls over their heads, prayed quick and were done. There was no praising the Father, no music, no prayer for specific concerns… it was very disheartening.  I went to a number of these, thinking the next might be different, but it was always the same.  The most interesting was the Passover Sedar where everyone was told that the churches try to do this, but they don’t know how.  The leader followed the booklet written by Tom Deckard and everyone participated in the rituals.  Then we were told that there would never again be a place set for Elijah because the previous year on Passover Tom had an earthquake on his land, and Elijah had been released back into the earth.  I find it interesting that Tom says Elijah came back in 2009 and yet in Matthew 17:12 Jesus said, “But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished.”I am curious what big spiritual thing happened in early July, 2011 when lightning struck his home?  Perhaps God is just trying to get his attention.

DECKARD’S DEMONICS – A Profile Of “Prophet” Tom Deckard

Tom Deckard is a charlatan who claims to be a Hebrew Roots scholar who in reality has a checkered past with several questionable incarnations of his ministry spanning a period of decades. From what I discovered about Deckard, there is a great deal of information concerning the man and his ever changing doctrinal output.

As this writer knows how facts can be twisted in order to seek to discredit a ministry leader, I’ve learned to look at motives on the part of those who would expose what are ostensibly false prophets. Usually, the most vehement attacks come from people from the target figure’s past, and they are frequently so bitter at some perceived wrong that the data they present cannot be trusted. Worse yet, the Spirit that lurks behind such heresy hunters seeks to draw in new converts to entangle others in their infernal antagonism.

In this regard, I have no particular axe to grind with Deckard as I have never met the man — but I recognize the spirit within him. The primary motivation for producing the present work is to combat the false doctrines Deckard espouses, and the best way to do that is to focus on the truth of the Gospel – periodically noting how Deckard’s Jewish Supremacism manipulates that truth for his own agenda.

Back in the 1980’s, Tom Deckard was a pastor of a church in Illinois, which he founded with then wife Kay. Several satellite churches were developed in adjacent states, as well as overseas outreaches. Multiple non-profit corporations were formed, and Deckard showed a keen interest in overseas work, with a stint in a Barbados mission in 1995 – where Deckard kept an apartment. He expanded into the Philippines, India, Africa, and South America, all the while fund raising in the states to support these projects.

In the case of an orphanage outreach in Africa, although Deckard’s congregation pledged $4,500 per month to sustain the project, an investigation later showed only about $500 of it reached Africa each month. In what has become almost a tiresome rerun, whenever there are fiscal irregularities, we’ve all come to expect something sexual as well; so it’s hardly a surprise that by the mid 1990’s, rumours swirled suggesting Tom was taking more than money from the females in his flock.

As Deckard’s downward spiral progressed, he began to transform his doctrine into what is usually called a Hebrew Roots orientation – so named because the emphasis becomes conformity to the Old Testament law, and all things Jewish. By 1998, the rumours of sexual misconduct continued, but Deckard evaded any reckoning, even as he emphasized the works oriented apostasy inherent in the legalism of the oxymoron that is Messianic Judaism.

By 1998, his church was fully Sabbatarian and Torah Observant – which is a nice way of saying they had left the liberty of Christ, and gone hook, line, and yarmulke into legalism. Deckard dumped the pastor label, and became a Rabbi – as the church became a synagogue; however Jesus was supposedly still in there somewhere, even though now He was only referred to Yeshua (or Yehoshua, or Y’shua, ad infinitum).

All the while, “Prophet Tom” was promising some of the more attractive ladies in the fellowship that they would receive the “reward of a prophet” if they would just get naked with him. Ultimately, about 20 women were involved, and Deckard’s wife of 33 years threw the rodent out of their home after receiving incontrovertible proof – apparently on video.

The congregation also ejected him, but not before a Swaggartian, teary-eyed confession before the assembled church-synagogue – a tawdry event in which the “prophet” blamed his “frigid” wife.

After Deckard’s whole deal went down in flames in 2000, we find him resurfacing with the Cradle of Hope corporate entity in 2005 and 2006. At this point, Decker linked up with Stan Johnson and the Prophecy Club – the Kansas based radio and speaking tour group with a lengthy record of promoting charismatic prophetic speakers who invariably seem to go bad. Thus, Deckard followed in the illustrious Prophecy Club footsteps of “Professor” Tom Mack, who raped his longtime sponsor, Christian newspaper publisher Joanne Reeves, as well as Tom Van Asperen, whose tour was highlighted by Van Asperen’s comparison of the temple of God with the architecture of the female genitalia.

With such stellar sexual degenerates preceding him, Deckard must have felt he had finally found a home at the Prophecy Club (for more on the PC, see the Christian Media work The Postasy Club.

Stan Johnson (who goes by the moniker of “Apostle” Stan Johnson these days), and another Messianic ministry called Messiah’s Branch run by Pastor Dan Catlin continued to defend Deckard on theological grounds, as they preach a similar Hebrew Roots-Jewish Supremacist doctrine centered on the primacy of the Jewish people in God’s plan. (For a detailed analyses of the WAR Beast (World Antichrist Religion) system which seeks to enthrone the nation of Israel as a “covenant nation” interacting with the rest of the world, see the Christian Media book The Two House Twist, as well as The Little Horn DVD on the same subject in the online catalog at ChristianMediaNetwork.com).

As Deckard’s “ministry” was repositioned to capitalize on the burgeoning Hebrew Roots movement, with Deckard remarried to a woman from his earlier church, the profligate prophet really began to accentuate the mantle of “Jewish” prophet. With the Prophecy Club helping him to re-invent himself on a national level, his re-launched ministry grew. After intensely promoting Deckard for years (including the production and sale of videos and CD’s of Deckard presentations and interviews), somewhere along the way, the Prophecy Club and Messiah’s Branch (whose radio show The Prophecy Hour repeatedly featured Deckard) seem to have stepped back a bit from defending the “prophet.” Don’t count on either to tell the world the truth about the Jewish Supremacist doctrine, or even Deckard’s Demonics.

Most of the criticism of Deckard these days is related to his autocratic style of emotionally manipulating his flock, when he should be scrupulously avoided on doctrinal grounds. Few recognize how false doctrine (especially end time’s prophecy oriented false doctrine) can destroy people’s lives. No one just gets up one morning and spontaneously decides to join a cult, such things creep up on you. In the case of Tom Deckard, some are becoming increasingly concerned over clearly cultic traits of insulation, in which members of Deckard’s flock cut off all ties with family members.

As Deckard’s present ministry, Cradle Of Hope, Inc, is a government licensed, incorporated, IRS approved non-profit (with a conventional church building), many fail to realize the Spiritual danger of failing to intensely (and repeatedly) seek the LORD on all doctrinal issues, and that quest should be made between you and God privately, with a Bible in your hands. See the Bereans for details.

Predictably, Deckard’s autocratic presentations have ruffled many feathers, to say nothing of his ubiquitous moral failures; however, the other gospel found in his version of “Hebrew Roots” can land your soul in hell, so that’s the most serious matter at hand.

One of the problems with cultic groups, such as Tom Deckard’s ministry, is they are periodically on target with their predictions and political assessments. Deckard sees America being severely judged, but you don’t have to be Elijah to see this nation being brought to her knees – all that’s needed is a bit of discernment and a Holy Bible.

Few have gone to the trouble to actually analyze this False Prophet’s doctrine, but make no mistake – Tom Deckard is bad to the bone. An analysis of his recorded teachings show he is relying upon the Old Testament when the Scriptures clearly state if you count on any part of the law, you’ll be judged by all of it. A prolific liar, he has frequently claimed to have made accurate predictions when the record shows nothing of the kind.

He claims to have healed a man of AIDS, when the man in question actually died at the time he was supposedly healed. In one recorded sermon, Deckard says he couldn’t raise the dead because angels told him that was their job, not his – a thoroughly unscriptural premise. Predictably, Tom Deckard seeks to remove the Apostle Paul’s Apostolic authority from the New Testament because, as other Jewish Supremacists have learned, it is primarily Paul’s letters which refute Deckard’s fraudulent Hebrew Roots doctrine.

Clearly devolving into a dangerous cult leader, Deckard has actually claimed that he has “cursed” people who opposed him, and they supposedly died: “And furthermore, God has given me the authority to go and stomp on their grave!”

Someone died all right, but it was a middle aged woman who recently walked out of one of Deckard’s services, and she was found later frozen to death in a nearby creek. How she got there, and what really happened to her is still a mystery.

Recently, the megalomaniac has alarmed family members of those caught in his web of deceit as he is now in the process of moving his core constituency to a remote island outside of the United States – but only those who have ponied up a $5,000 registration get to go. Although there is no indication he’ll name it Deckardtown, and start cooking the cool-aid, several families are already residing in a tropical remote settlement in the British Protectorate known as the Caicos islands in the Caribbean.

There is much more, but the reader gets the basic idea. In conclusion, Christian Media would recommend to all who are considering just what to do in the tumultuous days which have found us, joining up with “prophet” Tom Deckard is probably not your best plan.

Please do not just him this quick. Here are the excerpts of his teachings. Listen to them before you make another comment about him.

What if God has indeed sent a real prophet, a prophet like Moses and Elijah?? If he is real, you will be judged big time by the real God. So please be careful before you judge.

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

RP, your insinuation that Deckard is a prophet is preposterous if one studies his fruit. Deckard is simply a last days false prophet sent by Satan to help deceive the church.

The fact is, Deckard claims to predict the future and yet his “divine prognostications” are wrong most of the time-as is the case with EVERY prophet so called in the world today. God’s Word warns: Deuteronomy 13:1-5 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn [you] away from the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the Lord thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

Deuteronomy 18:20-22 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that [is] the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, [but] the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Now, regarding Christians judging; you are wrong again.

JUDG’MENT, n. The act of judging; the act or process of the mind in comparing its ideas, to find their agreement or disagreement, and to ascertain truth; or the process of examining facts and arguments, to ascertain propriety and justice; or the process of examining the relations between one proposition and another. (Webster’s Dictionary 1828)

The world seeks to silence the voice of Fundamentalists contending for the faith once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3). One accusation they use quite successfully is to label us meant spirited and judgmental. Hear me friend. Scripture is clear about our mandate to judge: Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters [1 Corinthians 6:2]? I received a letter recently from a student more upset with me for excoriating a heretic than he was with the heresies I had exposed. His reasoning was solely based on one quote from the Lord Jesus. But is silencing the voice of warning and discernment what the Lord Jesus really had in mind when He said judge not lest ye be judged (Matt. 7:1)? I don’t believe it was. The Believer’s Bible Commentary by Dr. William MacDonald sheds more light on this:

Sometimes these words of our Lord are misconstrued by people to prohibit all forms of judgment. No matter what happens, they piously say, “Judge not, that you be not judged.” But Jesus is not teaching that we are to be undiscerning Christians. He never intended that we abandon our critical faculty or discernment. The NT has many illustrations of legitimate judgment of the condition, conduct, or teaching of others. In addition, there are several areas in which the Christian is commanded to make a decision, to discriminate between good and bad or between good and best. Some of these include:
      1. When disputes arise between believers, they should be settled in the church before members who can decide the matter (1Co_6:1-8).
      2. The local church is to judge serious sins of its members and take appropriate action (Mat_18:17; 1Co_5:9-13).
      3. Believers are to judge the doctrinal teaching of teachers and preachers by the Word of God (Mat_7:15-20; 1Co_14:29; 1Jo_4:1).
      4. Christians have to discern if others are believers in order to obey Paul’s command in 2Co_6:14.
      5. Those in the church must judge which men have the qualifications necessary for elders and deacons (1Ti_3:1-13).
      6. We have to discern which people are unruly, fainthearted, weak, etc., and treat them according to the instructions in the Bible (e.g., 1Th_5:14).

      Contending for the Faith
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints [Jude 1:3]. One thing I’ve learned after three decades of ministry: Contending for the faith is linked to doctrinal soundness which requires a deep commitment to protecting God’s people and promoting God’s truth. Fact is, I’ve seen pastors so pathetically polarized by the politically correct “judge not” mantra they won’t even contend for the faith against heretical cults like SDAs, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Romanists, or Islamists for fear of being labeled judgmental. Ugh! If you’re afraid to recognize, rebuke, and remove evil influences in your church, imagine the outcome when grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock . . . speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them (Acts 20:29-30)? And they will! Here are verses commanding us to judge (NOTE: this is by no means an exhaustive list):

Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? [1 Corinthians 6:2]- we are judges by divine appointment as saints of God!
For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things [Philippians 3:18-19]- knowing and pointing out these enemies of the cross requires judgment!
A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject [Titus 3:10]- this requires that you first judge the person’s teachings as heretical. If they are, you must reject them.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. [1 John 4:1]- again, this requires judgment of a person’s spirit.

Now, let’s examine the following examples that are actually quite common in the ministry of a conse-crated church pastor:

EXAMPLE 1. An ordained man is a San Francisco preacher. He pastors a fairly large church reaching the forgotten and the downtrodden, and in his emotionally charged messages often employ quotes from Christ. One day he tells his people that his own words are equal with Scripture; that they should sell their belongings and or sign everything over to him. He then decides to move his congregants to Guyana, South America to a city named after himself, Jonestown. Do you regard him as a Christ-honoring man of God?

EXAMPLE 2. A neighboring group claims to be Christian. They study the Bible, pray, evangelize, pro-mote family values, and generally live lives above reproach. They also have canonized the teachings of a man named Joseph Smith who promoted a plethora of heresies including polygamy, polytheism, baptism for the dead, and the deity of man while denying the reality of hell, the triune Godhead, and the deity and efficacy of the Lord Jesus Christ. They are Mormons. Will you embrace them as brothers in Christ?

EXAMPLE 3. For years major denominations have defected from orthodoxy (Methodists, Presbyterians, Congregationalists, some Baptists, etc). Growing numbers of them no longer believe the Bible is inerrant, infallible, and inspired. As such, they support abortion, teach evolution, and ordain women as well as practicing, unrepentant sodomites. Will you fellowship with them? If not, will you fellowship with those that do fellowship with them?

If you answered no to these questions, I congratulate your exercise of righteous judgment (John 7:24; see Lev. 19:15), and I welcome you to the world of Biblical separation (2 Cor. 6:14-17) — my world!

You see, brother, I am thoroughly disgusted by growing numbers of anti-Christ apostates and their “judge not” facilitators in the church who claim to be men of the Bible and yet don’t have the backbone to mark them so their people can avoid them (Rom. 16:17) as Scripture commands.

It’s time the church judged these wolves by naming names the way Luke did (Acts 13:6-8); Paul did (1 Tim. 1:20; 2 Tim. 2:17-18); John did (3 John 1:9-10); Jude did (1:11); Jesus did (Rev. 2:20), and we do. However, if you choose the politically correct “judge not” mindset, I promise you these sneaky snakes will slither into your church via television, books, and other means, where they will saturate the hearts of your people with so many deceptions, they will- in time- convince them that you’re the real deceiver.

Well put. All I have heard repeatedly is “This is a Major PROPHET from God who has been 100% accurate for 32 years! We have to believe him” I have not, however, been able to verify one word. It’s like a broken record and it seems it’s the Tom Deckard 30 second commercial more than anything else. All I can say is when I listened to him…I sensed darkness and an underlying seething anger. I have found proof of some healings he claimed were false…so red flag! By the Way…my answers to your questions were all no. Where is the discernment? Where is rightly dividing the Word? Some things this guy says are downright outlandish and I do not have a witness in my spirit to their veracity…the opposite is true. The Elijah things at a Seder…was totally insane, if true. I only heard it on this site and only once so no 3 witnesses…I hope it wasn’t so! After researching the man himself…He has problems, like adultery, exaggerating dates and other information…as well as his claim of being raised in an Orthodox Jewish home, which is apparently not true. His parents were Methodist.. Furthermore it appears he has bad temper. Temper alone would not sway me because we are all subject to being angry but I have heard the same complaints from various people regarding infidelity, hustling people for money and fits of rage. There was also a matter of a felonious selling of a paradise island to escape to at 5,000 dollars a pop and he does not even own the island. Me thinks that there is nothing new under the sun and people still want their ears tickled. I would sincerely liked to have found evidence to the contrary because I derive no pleasure whatsoever from this kind of thing…especially from my Hebrew brethren! I love everything about the feasts, Shabbat and the language…all the things Yahshua participated in… so this is heartbreaking.

I had a perfect view when they put her legs up on a chair, with four people around her.they moved the chairs when he screamed at her.she still thinks her leg grew but her limp didnt change.hes also mean.

Listen everybody, you all have this ideology that people that are called by God are saints and don’t make mistakes. in fact, they have the greatest burden that you all. the same way you are talking is the same way the people yelled at Jesus at the cross of calvary saying ” he saved others but he cant save himself”. we Christian, we are not after souls again we’re now looking at the fall of other Christians. that is one of the main reason why we can never see the move of God. Judging somebody from his past as you’ve recorded, does that make you a saint, you are mistakened. you are behaving like the pharisees who think they are pure in their eyes but they are the greatest abomination in the sights of God and men (. the bible said by their fruits you shall know them. Jesus says can Satan be divided against his own kingdom, never. what are his fruits. 1st; His preaching; are they channeling toward salvation and the destruction of hell and works of darkness; Yes.. 2nd, his prophecies: are they channeling toward glorifying Jesus: Yes. only if you all know what that means.. i can hear some people commenting that yes he tries to raise a lame woman and all that… do you ever read your bible at all… so we christian now believe that when a people cant be healed meaning that he or she is no longer a christian ? well for your information they way you said all this is the same way the woman in question cannot be healed because of her total believe. Please stop crucifying men of God instead, pray and intercede for them because it is their prayers that helps keep the world together at these perilous times.
    thanks and God bless you.

Joshua, did you even bother to read the article? Your boasting is vain babbling friend. This man is a fraud!!

What is becoming frighteningly common in the Body of Christ today is the tendency for naive brethren to wholeheartedly accept anything with the “Jesus Name Tag” on it then become incensed at the person who exposes the charlatan for what they really are – the dubious Deckard is a case in point.

      He’s not a brother, he’s a BASTARD (Heb 12:8)!

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Now, your feckless insinuation that Deckard is a prophet is preposterous if one studies his fruit. Deckard is simply a last days false prophet sent by Satan to help deceive the church.

Thanks so much for posting this. I had listened to him on the Prophecy Club and seemed like a pretty straight up guy. I was skeptical about his claiming to have a personal angel that told him things though. Other things about him bothered me also. I just want truth , Gods truth. Thats why I mostly stick with the bible, Gods word. I dont rely on men for translations but with that being said there a few preachers I really like. Charles Stanley is really good.

Thank you for your comments Miss R. Kim. I’m sure your experience will touch someone’s heart. Shalom in the Beloved Jesus …

Understand that there are prophets and apostles still here on the earth. Scripture lets us know. We know in part and we prophecy in part. If they’re no phophet then neither is they’re any pastors evangelist or any other five fold ministry

Hello Deon, thanks for writing. When Paul wrote the passage you speak of regarding knowing and prophesying, he said there would come an end when the perfect is come. Here’s the passage:

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (1 Corinthians 13:9-11)

In context, that “perfect” is linked to prophecy and knowledge which were given in part, like Isaiah said here a little and there a little. That description fits exactly the 66 books of the canon of Scripture. Up until then prophets were given partial revelation and knowledge; none had all of it at a given time. Once the book of Revelation was added in about 95 ad, the gift of supernatural prophecy (the ability to predict the future with 100% accuracy) and the gift of knowledge (the ability to declare information miraculously) ceased.

Deon, there is a grave problem with men calling themselves prophets today in that NONE OF THEM – NOT A SINGLE ONE – CAN CLAIM the qualifications demanded in Deut 13 and 18; Tom Deckard was no exception. Please prayerfully consider the following before you give your allegiance to ANY man boasting of gifts that he doesn’t have.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world (1 John 4:1. If we use the Bible as our sole authority- which is incumbent upon those rightly dividing it- there isn’t a man on the face of the earth that fits the Biblical requirements of a prophet of God! While the Bible has always existed in God’s economy (Psalm 119:89) it has not always been available to us in its present printed format. For some 15 centuries, God dispensed Scripture to His servants the prophets, who were first and foremost stewards of it (Heb. 1:1). Today when we expound from any of the 66 inspired, canonized Books, we are able with confident prophetic authority to say thus saith the Lord because we are reading it, not receiving it; forth-telling vs. foretelling. This is a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts (2 Peter 1:19). Sadly, in a show of either blind stupidity or willful ignorance, far too many Christians have formed their idea of the prophetic office based on what they’ve seen portrayed on “Christian” television rather than from Scripture bringing us face to face with the reality of Jesus’ warning: For there shall arise false Christs [claiming special anointing], and false prophets [predicting lies], and shall shew great signs and wonders [get our tract with this title]; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect [try speaking out against these scurrilous skunks and see how their followers treat you] (Matthew 24:24). In this tract I will- with the Word of God- demonstrate why all of these self anointed prophets are not only false, but that they are deceptive, dangerous, and delusional.

It is my contention they should be exposed and excoriated as the heretical frauds they have proven themselves to be.

      God’s Prophets

I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets (Hosea 12:10). God does all He can to guard us from deception, an end times trick (Matt. 24:24). His prophets were divinely appointed men during a time when there was no completed canon of Scripture, not part of the fellowship of fools seen nightly on TV. You will remember God told Moses to lead His people to the Promised Land. Once there, Israel was confronted with- and often seduced by- occult religious practices, including child sacrifice [with abortion] and sodomy [homosexuality]. Since there was no completed canon of Scripture aside from the Pentateuch during those years, the Lord raised up a select group of prophets to reveal His will and His Word to His people. However, since Canaan also had prophets, God’s men were to be divinely distinguishable by speaking clear messages that did not contradict other known Scripture (including the Pentateuch), and that included short range and long range prophecies that had to be fulfilled with 100% accuracy. Any violation or deviation of any of these things by any prophet resulted in disqualification and death (Deut. 13:5; 18:20). Signs – which included prophecy – confirmed the messenger (Ex. 3:20; 4:8-9; Heb. 2:4; Acts 4:29-31; 14:3; 15:32; 2 Cor. 12:12 etc) so God’s people knew who to trust. It was never to be used to raise money like the carnivals conducted by the merchandisers we see all around us (2 Pet. 2:1-3). Today, “faith cometh by hearing … the Word” (Rom. 10:17. We don’t need a prophet or signs to confirm the Bible, we have to believe it and act upon it. In lieu of that, after Revelation (95 AD) – the final book of the canon – was completed, the prophetic office ceased.

      False Prophets

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them (2 Peter 2:1). Satan has always been able to raise up false prophets, and a crowd of devotees to follow them. The term is defined by Thayer as “one who, acting the part of a divinely inspired prophet, utters falsehoods under the name of divine prophecies.” Where this is all headed is part of the predicted mystery of iniquity (2 Thess. 2:7) where signs and wonders- that incidentally ceased by mid first century AD- are used as a means of establishing “anointing” credibility which ultimately impugns and subverts trust in the Word of God by adding to it and subtracting from it. Even once fundamental churches are exchanging the immutable Word of God for the emotionally subjective words of knowledge and new revelation, gibberish tongues with interpretations so called, and prophecies that seldom are accurate.
False prophets today have a traceable link to Babylonian mysticism (Rev. 17:5) that goes back to the Garden where the serpent Satan- father of lies- is unveiled as the very first false prophet (Gen. 3:4-5). Pay special attention to this verse because it shows us where these fake- but fiendishly followed- miracle workers are leading everyone: For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty (Revelation 16:14).

      Failed Predictions from False Prophets

But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die . . . How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him (Deuteronomy 18:20-22).We are living in a day where the unbiblical and untoward are not only accepted, they are applauded- just as long as they sport the “Jesus” name tag. Since space is limited and I have dealt with the flipping, flopping, barking, and bellowing (in the spirit) in previous publications, along with the Copeland, Hinn, Crouch, etc blasphemies [Jesus had to be born again in Hell; we’re gods]; and the Bob Jones-Todd Bentley angelic meetings and heavenly restaurant excursions [Latter Rain Manifest Sons of God Heresy- Dr. Mike’s booklet], I’ll stick to listing some of the failed prophecies and false prophets making them.
Kim Clement: prophesied a cure for AIDS by the year 2002 (12/26/2000 edition of Praise the Lord on TBN).

Kenneth Copeland: claimed America would be fully led by leaders following the Holy Ghost during the Clinton presidency. Enough said. Copeland also predicted in a dedication service on 12/02/01 for the new 2000 seat Word of Life church auditorium in Honolulu, that one billion Muslims would be saved in the next few months.
Kenneth Hagin: (the late) lied that he received his teaching, not from any man, but directly from God. Yet, years later it was discovered to be plagiarized word for word in some places E.W. Kenyon.
Benny Hinn: appears often on TBN claiming wonderful things the Lord is showing him: Fidel Castro would die in 1990s, and that God would destroy the homosexual community of America. On a TBN praise-a-thon April 2, 2000, Hinn brashly stated the Lord told him He would begin appearing physically on the platform of his crusades. [Hinn who was still married to the woman divorcing him was caught emerging from a hotel room with Paula White].
Rod Parsley: Parsley, the hokey handkerchief handler claimed in an April 1999 mailing God spoke through him to the distraught mother of a drug addicted, AIDs infested, homosexual son she hadn’t seen in over 12 years- (Parsley’s speaking for God) “Anything you ask Me today, I will grant it.” She asked for her son to be saved, healed, and restored to his family. Parsley claimed in his newsletter that 3 months later the miracle was confirmed when the son called with the exciting news that her prayers were answered. Inner City Christian Discernment Ministry (ICCDM) became suspicious and requested verification NINE YEARS ago. Still nothing! What is Parsley hiding? Why won’t he provide this info, unless of course it is . . . mythical.
Oral Roberts: In 1977 Roberts said he had received a vision from God telling him to build the City of Faith. He later claimed to have seen a 900 foot tall Jesus who told him that the vision would soon be realized and that the hospital would be a success. The City of Faith opened in 1981. He later closed it down for financial reasons. All of this info is in my booklet The New Age Charismatic Seed of Corruption.
Pat Robertson: Last but certainly not least. He and his staff he have consistently practiced divination (word of knowledge) on the 700 Club in the same manner as occultist William Branham [you may order our tract on this deceiver]. In 1982 and again in 1984, Robertson predicted the Tribulation would take place in those years. January 2007 he predicted a terrorist attack on the US causing death and destruction equivalent to that of a nuclear war by the end of the year 2007 (CNN.com).

Dear friend, I’ve provided evidence for everything I’ve written and all the charges I’ve made here. What I find alarming is that the charismatic community has virtually remained silent about these blasphemous lies and liars. It’s time Christians stood up for God’s truth. I’d love to hear from you if you will join us in contending for the faith against the mounting heresy and growing number of heretics (Jude 1:3). Will you?
